City will hold nuisance sign removal training Sept. 26

The City of Kansas City, Mo., Neighborhoods and Housing Services Department will provide nuisance sign removal training for residents andneighborhood groups on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. at the Neighborhood Preservation Division, 4900 Swope Parkway.
“We’re providing this training in an effort to help neighborhoods regulate unauthorized signs placed in the right of way or on public property,” said John Parks, code enforcement manager.
Resident and neighborhood groups do not need to sign up to attend this training.

Any resident who sees a sign posted on public property may report it to the City’s 3-1-1 Call Center by dialing 311 or 816-513-1313. Residents who take the nuisance sign removal training will learn how to remove and appropriately discard the sign or submit it to the Neighborhoods and Housing Services Department for further enforcement proceedings.
